Mindy Weinheimer Receives Community Service Award

IRVINE—The Orange County Business Journal recently honored seven chief financial officers with awards including Human Options Administrator Director Mindy Weinheimer at its annual CFO of the Year Dinner and Program, held in association with Cal CPA—OC/Long Beach chapter.

Nearly 600 attendees came out for this year’s event, which took place on January 27 at the Hyatt Regency, Irvine. Rob Ukropina, Managing Partner at Black Diamond Ventures, acted as the program’s master of ceremonies.

Community Service Award – Mindy Weinheimer, Human Options (Irvine)

Mindy Weinheimer joined Human Options in December 2005. At that time, the organization employed a part-time accountant but had limited institutional knowledge of its accounting policies and financial operations. In consultation with the audit committee, the organization’s external auditor and the board, she immediately wrapped her arms around the finance operations so that the organization could position itself for greater success.

In addition to doing volunteer work for Human Options, Weinheimer sits on the board of directors of Building Friends, an organization that serves special needs in children. She also does pro bono consulting for Mission Accomplished and for YWCA.
