Men’s Task Force
In 2003, Human Options began its Men’s Task Force fall public service advertising campaign “100 Men, 1 Voice, 1 Campaign” with a goal to raise awareness and support from men for the prevention of domestic violence. Then in 2009, Verizon Wireless joined our efforts and brought their corporate leadership and support to the campaign. Since its beginning the Men’s Task Force campaign has raised more than $500,000 for our Community Education program.
With prevention as one of three areas of major focus, our community education program provides presentations and workshops teaching how to recognize and prevent abusive behavior and provide early intervention. Each year our community educators go into private and public schools throughout Orange County to speak to students about “Safe Dates” a program focusing on healthy relationships and teen dating violence prevention.
To thank our generous supporters the names of the men supporting this campaign will be featured this summer in the 100 Men, 1 Voice, 1 Campaign” advertisement in the widely read Orange County Register, reaching even more readers with a combined print and online audience of over 5 Million readers. These advertisements have served as powerful inspiration to other men to speak out against domestic abuse in an effort to end the violence.
