Love Shouldn't Hurt

Love Shouldn’t Hurt

As we celebrate the month of love in February, many others will experience dating violence. Unfortunately, teens are more likely to experience dating violence than any other age group. One in three teens in the U.S. will experience some form of dating violence from a romantic partner. February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and Human Options is empowering teens to show respect and engage in healthy relationships.  Stand against teen dating violence by participating in our “Love Shouldn’t Hurt” campaign!   This year, our campaign includes resources and information for teens, parents and educators. Vivian’s Farewell

By Vivian Clecak, retiring CEO and Founder of Human Options Last week I visited the resident council for our Second Step transitional housing program. As I listened to the stories of our clients, I was touched by their words – “Human Options saved my life. I do not know if I would have lived through the next beating.” “Thanks to Human Options, I can be the mother I always wanted to be. My son was always telling me, ‘Mama, I don’t want you to be sad.’ Now we both smile.” “I never knew there was a place like this. I thought shelters were scary places full of metal cots. My…

In a career filled with a trophy case of accomplishments, being named one of Orange County’s true entrepreneurs was a crowning achievement. “A big night for our Founding CEO, Vivian Clecak and an equally big night for Human Options, an organization that sets the gold standard for…
