April is an author\, actress\, and speaker whose memoir\, Embracing Me\, chronicles her journey as a teen survivor of relationship violence through resilience\, courage\, and transformation. From the streets of the Bronx to celebrated roles in Freedom Writers and Dexter\, April is a voice for survivors everywhere\, reminding us that we have the power to rewrite our story.
