DESCRIPTION:Looking to work with domestic violence survivors or just expand your knowledge? \nSign up for Human Options’ 40-hour state mandated workshop! Offered biannually in the Spring and Fall\, this domestic violence series is ideal for those seeking employment or volunteer experience with a domestic violence organization in California. \nEmergency hotline volunteers help answer calls to our 24-hour hotline and document each call. Emergency hotline volunteers are asked to do at least one\, 3 hour shift per week. All hotline volunteers are mandated by the State of California to complete a 40-hour domestic violence awareness training before being eligible to volunteer. \nUpon completion you will receive a certification as mandated California Evidence Code Section 1037.1. \nJoin us for our virtual 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training in August 2022! \nMonday\, August 8\, 2022 (Training will be from 12:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. ) \nTuesday\, August 9\, 2022\nWednesday\, August 10\, 2022\nThursday\, August 11\, 2022 \nAll classes will be held from 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. with a 30- minute lunch and 15- minute break midway

However\, studies show that 1 in 3 teens will experience some type of abuse by an intimate partner. Because of this staggering statistic\, we are preparing for our Love Shouldn’t Hurt campaign this February 2022. \nJoin us starting February 1st and all-month long to shine a line on Teen Dating Violence Awareness & Prevention Month and promote #HEALTHYLOVE ! \nThis year’s campaign includes taking action by wearing our orange button on your sleeve to stand against teen violence and promote #HealthyLove”. With educational workshops\, conferences\, social media posts\, a TDVAM toolkit with facts and statistics about Teen Dating Violence\, there are many fun ways to engage this month!
