As we enter the season of gratitude, we at Human Options take a moment to reflect on the incredible support we receive from this community of caring individuals. It is because of you—our partners, volunteers, donors, board members, and dedicated staff—that we are able to provide a safe haven for those experiencing relationship violence in Orange County. Every day, we witness the transformative power of community, and we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support that helps us on this journey of healing.
During this time of year, when we count our blessings, we want to shine a light on five groups that make our work possible. We believe that any healing journey begins when you are surrounded by the right partners, people and community. And these individuals and organizations are essential to the work we do. To each one of you who shares your talent, time, and resources with Human Options, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
Community Partners
We value partnerships that are grounded in a shared commitment to ensuring survivors feel safe. We are thankful for our community partners including healthcare practitioners, law enforcement, housing providers, and our city leaders. Your compassion, empathy, and partnership create a safe space where survivors feel heard and supported. Because of you, we can increase access to the services needed and remove barriers to a life free from fear. It is an honor to work alongside you in service to survivors and their families.
Donors and Supporters
We are deeply grateful to our generous donors and supporters. Your generosity enables us to remain responsive to survivor needs and provide comprehensive services, ranging from emergency shelter, housing, and counseling to legal advocacy and support groups for survivors. Because of you, we can educate our community on relationship violence and increase awareness of ways to support those affected by abuse. Whether it’s $100 for a night’s stay in our shelter or $1,000 to ensure that survivors receive nutritious meals while they rebuild their lives, every contribution has a profound impact. Your commitment is a beacon of hope for survivors, offering them a path to a brighter future.
Dedicated Volunteers
We recognize that volunteers are the heart and soul of an organization. Their hard work and dedication are an indispensable part of what gives Human Options the ability to effectively support survivors of relationship violence. Whether assisting survivors directly, helping with events, or lending their skills in the office, our volunteers give so much of themselves to further our mission. The time, energy, and empathy they provide help fill gaps and enhance our capacity to help more people. To all our volunteers, thank you for your tireless commitment to making a difference in the lives of survivors and their families.
Board Members
We appreciate the essential role our board members play in steering the organization toward success. They help establish our strategic priorities, ensure organizational health and stability, and steward the organizational resources to ensure that Human Options advances its mission. These dedicated individuals volunteer their time and expertise to ensure that we stay true to our mission and vision. Each board member brings a unique perspective and valuable experience, enhancing our ability to serve survivors and strengthening our programs. We are incredibly thankful for their service and commitment.
Committed Staff
We are grateful to our staff, the backbone of Human Options. These passionate advocates provide crucial support to victims and survivors. From crisis counseling and case management to navigating complex legal systems and offering emotional support, our staff members are the lifeline for survivors who need it most. They are often the first point of contact for someone in crisis, and their kindness, expertise, and empathy are what help individuals take the first steps toward healing. We are deeply thankful for their dedication and the tireless work they do.
These five groups—our community partners, donors, volunteers, board members, and staff—are the foundation of our organization. It is an honor to work alongside each of them as we strive to create a future in which every person in Orange County can experience safe, healthy relationships and live free of fear. Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community that believes in the power of healing and understands that relationship violence is everyone’s concern.
