We are deeply grateful to Mike Thứ hai of Temple Bat Yahm, whose volunteering and service made an immediate and life-changing difference for a survivor and her family.
This month, Mara and her family urgently needed to move into our transitional housing program, but the unit wasn’t yet ready for move-in. We reached out to our new partners at Temple Bat Yahm for support in moving quickly. Mike Thứ hai of their congregation responded immediately and agreed to help. Before even knowing the address, he got in his car, arrived on site, and prepared the unit so the family could move in that very night. His partnership ensured they did not spend a night unhoused, and his care created a space that welcomed this survivor and her family with dignity, stability, and hope.
Mike’s action reflects the heart of Humanity in Action: mobilizing our community to step into meaningful moments of support that move our mission forward and ensure survivors feel seen, valued, and accompanied on their journey. This partnership with Temple Bat Yahm shows how powerful it is when community members respond with compassion and purpose.

They have already provided a steady flow of welcome baskets for families entering our residential programs and are exploring new ways to deepen their involvement.
