In this episode, we came together to explore the often-overlooked connection between relationship violence and housing insecurity. Courage Over Comfort created space for an honest dialogue about what it means for survivors to seek safety while facing the very real risk of homelessness.
Through this conversation, we examined how survivors are often forced to make impossible choices between staying in unsafe situations or stepping into uncertainty without stable housing. Our panelists, Betty Martinez Franco, Councilmember, business owner, and survivor, alongside Zulima Lundy from the Office of Care Coordination, shared insights on the systemic barriers that contribute to this crisis, as well as the critical role of survivor-centered housing solutions in breaking cycles of violence.
